  • That really sucks about the pre-paid data plan, and kinda kills my "perfect phone & data" concept. What is this going to do to your experiment?

As an aside, I've had the SIM out of my N82 for about four days now while playing with an E71. Can still do almost everything with it when home as it uses the wi-fi for VOIP, and I'm loving that.
  • yeah, that kinda wrecks my idea for the experiment as well. They said it will stop working in the middle of November, so it'll work for a while more.

As for my experiment, I found the old 2610 too annoying to use as my main phone. Also I found Truphone too invasive, and it was keeping WiFi connected which kills the N95 battery very quickly. I'm not sure I'm ready to switch to just Wifi/VoIP quite yet.

I enjoyed your articles on the "perfect phone & data" concept. If you'd like to , could you drop a link here in the comments?
  • That's strange. Admittedly, I am not using it a ton, but I can leave my N82 logged into Gizmo for 2 days until I have to recharge. I am also running MWS on it. But there is no carrier connection, which probably saves battery.

This was scheduled to post tomorrow, but what the hell, it's the weekend! Here is my post about installing and using GizmoVOIP on an S60 phone. I think I know what you mean about Truphone, as I have tried to use Fring as an interface to Gizmo. I like the "native" version a lot better.

    Anyway, for your reading pleasure:
